47B3
Cessna was involved in the helicopter game from around 1952 until 1962 through development and certification of the Cessna CH1 Skyhook. They didn't get the military contracts they needed and virtually erased all evidence of their efforts. Concentrated on the C337 Skymaggot and C310 after that. Here's a few pages from a 1961 promotional brochure. Skids Up
Easy to bring back! just take the wings off a 172 and add a rotor!! Can you imagine how noisy the cabin was with a gearbox between the front seats???? We might be fortunate that it didn't make the cut... pc12dude
The engine up front is pretty wild as well. There is a ton of info. Maybe give the R44 a run for its money. ...maybe not.

DGP
Cessna built airframes for bell for years...might still be doing it...most of the early jetboxes after #200...the real early ones were built by agusta in italy
windslapper
One aspect though is that it would have been cool to be able to look back and see your tail rotor!
