mountainflier Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Hello everyone... There aren't a lot of details about the incident from the article, but I am curious if anyone has experienced a wirestrike. I am so thankful that there weren't any injuries. To experience that as a pilot must be an absolutely disturbing experience. Fly-Safe everyone... --------------------------------------------- Helicopter flies into power line A helicopter flew through a Valley Electric Association transmission line, causing it to break and fall across Highway 160 near Lovell Canyon, at 2:03 p.m. Tuesday, March 11. No injuries resulted. The Nevada Highway Patrol and fire departments from both Nye and Clark counties responded to the area for traffic control. Despite radio traffic that indicated otherwise, the highway was not closed. Ninety-seven people in the Mountain Springs area lost power until about 5 p.m. One pole was destroyed as a result of the incident and was replaced Wednesday morning. Quote
Elvis Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Intresting, there is no mention of it on the NTSB web site. Did somebody forget to tell them that they had a boo boo? Quote
