Blackmac Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 If'n all ya'all want to hear a "Huey" thumpin, get a copy of "Apocalypse". You can hear them in chorus. Flew a 2by4 on the Ivory Coast for ONCHO and never had to wait for a taxi at any local airport. Cheers, Don Quote

You could at least give them a 20 min warning. LOL Steven Quote
transquebecniece Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 If'n all ya'all want to hear a "Huey" thumpin, get a copy of "Apocalypse". Seen every film ever produced with Hueys in them. A few times. It's just not the same as in real life, I am told. Quote
Blackmac Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 TQN: At the airport in Calgary you can hear them once they leave the mountains. Takes about a half hour for it to reach the airport. Love the sound. Shades of straight pipes I had on a 38 Ford convertible in the fifties, great sound. Cheers, Don Quote
transquebecniece Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Yahbut I don't want to have to go clear to Calgary (no offense)! I'm tryin' to sweet-talk Jim Paules (American Heroes Airshow Network producer) into bringin' 'em to Denver. I think he thinks I'm nuts at this point. I imagine that sound echoing off the mountains is fabulous. Quote
cap Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 koalaa119 ...........try having a conversation on the ground with 35 approaching...........and coming at you "hard-down" and close to VNE where they really "CRACK". Quote
skullcap Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 35 wow can't even try to imagine that. Had 3 204's buzz me once years ago, you don't hear them you feel them, hair on end cool.... Quote
rainman Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 Could be the driving force behind many pilots!? Great sound, no machine sounds quite as cool as a medium Bell of some variation. Quote

That would be awesome. I had the priviledge once of watching the Swiss airforce practicing low level dogfighting in a mountain valley. THey were breaking the sound barrier on a regular basis. My brother and I could hardly speak they were so loud as the noise vibrated off the mountains. But 35 Bell's would be too much. Could only feel and listen to that. Awe inspiring. cheers.
