If you were able to use a TAS indicator you'd see that the TAS remains the same while the IAS becomes less with an increase in Density Altitude. The reason is that since the air is less dense, there is less "felt pressure" in the ASI, thus it would indicate less at higher altitudes. Hope that helps somewhat.
