Well said Cap

The only important six inchs is between the ears, and it does not matter what the gender is if they don't

have the grey matter,(and it is just space) then you would not want them for a crew member. This goes for if their hands are on the controls or a wrench.

Because at the end of the day the only thing that counts is that the crews get home safe.

Spacial Thinking

There where studies done back in the 50's at MIT that foucsed on the differences in the way both Male and femal brains work in terms of spacial thinking as it relates to mechanical function.

2 groups of 10 men and 10 women where asked to draw pictures of a simple mechanical objects familiar to everyday life-= A bicycle in 1 minute. Out of the 40 person in the test group only 11 where able to draw an accurate mechanicaly functional representation of a bicycle. Out of the 11 mechanically accurate drawings 10 where done by male participants, 1 was drawn by a female.

It would be curious to see if these experments would hold the same results today, given the changes in roles and changes society has seen since those days.

I am only adding my 2 cents here in order to bring up my posting quota which is apparently rather important for a persons cred.

The fact that this topic is even being discussed at such great length shows how megalithic this whole industry is. These discussions would not take place in most other professions and I think they would probably be deemed tasteless.

If a women is willing to work in this enviroment which is rife with egotistical, premaddona wankers then more power to her.

There. Now I think I should have six posts. Gotta go. I think the old lady has finnished making my chips and egg.

Maybe the question should be "What about some of those guy AME's out there?" I've worked with a few women AME's and they've at least held there own and in several cases, in fact I'd rather have them on my crew than many guys out there. About the only place I can think of where the size 44 shirt may have an advantage in this profession might be when it comes to handling fuel drums and the like. I find it amazing there is nothing better to talk about than this drivel.

But then again, that's just me.

Hey, is that Skwrench or Skywench?

Man, one of the best engineers I have ever met was a girl....Ms. Potts. I landed in Taloayak and came across a company astar, she came walking right past me, I didn't know if she was the customer or what! she climbed right up there and started pop'in panels before I even knew where I was! No matter how sub zero, windy and dark the arctic got she would just bundle up and go to work! I have not met many guys with that kinda stamina.

I promise to not call anyone sexist-piggish again. Not even you, Wigs. :P

**** TQN I was hoping to raise more ire than that. I work with Tweaker and was just trying to rattle her cage. I'll have to work harder at it next time.

Cheers
