N1 Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 According to a post on JH, Kachina has lost it's USFS Exclusive Use contracts as it has been determined to not be a small business. Anyone hear anything about this? Quote
212wrench Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 If true, that is a huge blow to Alpine as well as the USFS Quote
jfk Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 I hope you dont believe everything you hear over at JH! If so I have some beachfornt in AZ for you, real bargin. It’s not really true. Several of their awarded contracts are under protest. They were small business setbacks. Kachina was determined in December not eligible as a small business. Same reason ERA and others don’t have a ton of contracts anymore. The 205 contract in Salmon Idaho was awarded, protested by Idaho Helicopters and rewarded. It is my understanding that the recently awarded 407 contract in UT is under protest. What does this mean? Who knows? They could restructure, and be reclassified. Or in the future you may see the USFS/DOI not have small business setbacks. (I am sure there would be law suits galore over that idea). If the Forest Service wants Kachina as a vendor, they will find a way to make it happen. Quote
Heli-Gypsy Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 JFK hit it right on the nose, That is exactly what happend. Dont worry that will not set be a set back for Kachina. Quote
