Hi

I would like to get some advise about what should a third year AME endorsed on AS350D, BA, B2, and 206Bs and Ls should ask for if he wants to go contract, only bush work, no hangar

I am working permanent right now but think about enventually going contract.

Thanks

When I am in Engineering mode, for an Astar in the bush south of 60, I start at $300 / day, lodgings at cost (normally already taken care of by the customer anyway) $40 per day perdiem and negotiate the revenue flight pay. Usually ends up between $15 and $25 per hour. Depending on the hours flown and length of day the daily rate goes up.

North of 60 we are going to talk.

Most operators are willing to pay a decent engineer to ensure the Helicopter keeps flying.

cheers,

RTR
