twinstar_ca Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 (clearing throat and speaking in best cliff claven imitation i can manage) ya know, normie.. it's no longer referred to as the heimlich manouvre ever since the major training agencies chose to distance themselves from the good dr heimlich's controversial opinions on some other treatment modalities... he has since copywrited the term "heimlich manouvre" so that everytime it's in print, he gets a royalty... that's why you'll hear it referred to as the much simpler "sub-diaphramtic abdominal thrusts".... and i'm thinking TQN still doesn't want that visual!!!! (end of cliffy voice) as a 1st aid instructor, if i had a $0.05 for everytime i've heard the hindlick joke, i'd be a very, very rich man!!! Quote

(end of cliffy voice) ...sub-diaphramtic abdominal thrusts? Is it just me or does that sound like a fancy way of saying "barf?" And to keep Mod Squad Man happy, the picture of that Astar alone doesn't necessitate the need for any sub-diaphramtic abdominal thrusts. Where the heck's JB? He should be chiming in right about now. Rotorwing Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Hey JetBox, take a look at this new technology, best thing on the market in '78  Hey 407D, do you know where that photo was taken? Who took the photo? and who was flying? I do and the year was 1980. RW Quote
407 Driver Posted February 15, 2006 Author Report Posted February 15, 2006 No, No , No and Yes, it was actually 1980 or after ( since the aircraft is a 1980 model). It's a photo from an Okanagan brochure. Quote
cyclic monkey Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Here's a visual for ya'......... The sub-diaphramtic abdominal thrust can also be performed on animals. It's believed 407D performs a similar procedure on sheep..... all in the name of mountain rescue, of course. Quote

PerfectTrack Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 CM are you ever going to fill us in on your whereabouts. I've got a few guesses, one involves a colony of hutterites in alberta snagged you for your fresh genes, another involves incarceration and your mandatory release date finally arrived. Quote
