It's nice to see there are a fair number of positions being advertised on here. Goes to figure there are many more which are filled by word of mouth etc., really nice to see.

Hopefully we have a good fire season, sounds like BC is quite dry...

as of Jan 1, 2006......

Snowpack

Most B.C. snowpacks are below normal for January 1, varying from a high of 82% of normal in the North and South Thompson, to a low of near 50% of normal in the Similkameen and throughout the south coast. Throughout the interior parts of the province, low elevation and valley botton snowpacks are well below normal, generally <50% of normal, while mid and high elevation snowpacks are better developed, often 70-85% of normal.

When the January figures get posted in a few days, these percentages will climb considerably.

BC Snow Survey Bulletin

Here is something to think about.

An area will receve an annual precip amount per year.

This is proven by historical data.

If a region has a heavy precip event through the winter, either in the form of snow or rain, then chances are the summer will avereage this out by not having allot of precip.

Conversley, the recipricol of this historical data is relevent!!!

Thus..big snow in the winter..big fire season.
