transquebecniece Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 Fav? The S51 (my avatar) . So that's what that is. Hmph. Always wondered what that strange flying contraption was in your avatar, DW! Kinda cool! My ground-hugger's license reads, "Expires November 2005"...as pointed out so kindly by a Jefferson County Sheriff's deputy yesterday morning. In lieu of a ticket, I was offered an official escort to the nearest Dept. of Motor Vehicles office. What a nice occifer! Hooyah! Quote
67november Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 those blonde roots are deeply inbedded , so were you speeding again Quote

Anyhoo, lost just two strands of blonde to gray when I saw them flashin' lights..but it's all good! Thankfully the "blondeness" took a back seat long enough to prevent me from askin' Mr. Officer if he was even old enough to drive...let alone be a copper! Ha! :cop: And phew! Quote

cap Posted December 26, 2005 Report Posted December 26, 2005 Hey Downwash, you didn't speak to the changes on licenses during the past eons of our sojourns in this business. I used to be an XDC-7287....... that gave it some "personality" and told folks much about me just by reading that license number and letters........now I read like a serial number on a Harley-Davidson part. I have a SEPARATE license for both F/W AND R/W......unlike most not combined on one as most "normal" people have. I have "206 Series" as an endorsement on my license which covers then ALL.....unlike many I have noticed. Lastly, to ALL......TAKE NOTE! According to official recorded MoT records, I received my license on April 1, 1980. There are NO records that exist ANYWHERE within the confines of Ottawa about me before that date. Reason? Apparently DoT/MoT has for years hired Carlton University students in the summer to "clean-out" their stash of records. They are itemized as which will go to "Microfiche" and which will be shredded. Somehow, someway, ALL of my records went through the shredder as far as they can find out, so things will become very "interesting" should I someday have to prove or back-up my own documentation and records. Reason for that being, that the vast majority of the companies that I have worked for cease to exist and have been so for a lonnnnng time in many cases. This was all found out very accidentally by a local friend and MoT Inspector and he howls with laughter whenever I bring it up. He just says, "tell'em that you started flying before they issued licenses"........very funny, To ALL, the point of this "ramble" is to advise you to keep every little scrap of information and records that you have and throw little, if anything, into the dumpster. Sorry, but your "Certified" stamp of hours flown will carry you "just so far" and then they want to speak to that person or that company. Hard to do when that CP has been dead for 25 years and the company non-existant for 20. So Downwash and a small number of other people better stay "with us" until I retire or else I started flying in April of 1980. That's why my interest in your well-being Downwash.........friend, 'ol buddy, chum. Quote
