Skids Up Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 There, but for the Grace of God.... Heartfelt condolences to the families. Know that we all share your grief.... Quote
justfly Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 I saw the Enstrom, met & talked with the pilot and passenger last week at Nanaimo. Very sad! Seemed like a very likable guy enjoying his pride & joy. My sincere condolences to family, friends, and loved ones! Quote

Schooner69 Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 An unfortunate accident and a difficult time for the families involved. They will want to know answers: hopefully AIB can provide some for them. My thoughts: I don't see a tail rotor. The main rotors are intact, attached to the mast, and show no rotational damage. There doesn't seem to be much fuselage movement after touchdown. Possible loss of tail rotor in flight? Quote
Ryan Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 That's what folks are thinking. The tail rotor was not found at the crash site, dunno if it's been found yet either. Guess the popping and banging that witnesses heard was likely the TR drive shaft failing and/or the tail rotor breaking free. Quote
