lamanated Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 we use 28,I've heard of sundstrand on them though Quote
Spragclutch Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 I've tried just about everything, none are great. book calls for mobil28 but it runs off. Sunstrand seems to be the best, but in the end I don't think it matters as long as you pull it every hundred and re-lube it. And if you've got a bad PTO seal make sure you change it or at least suck the oil out of the bottom of the housing. I've seen the housing so full it washed everything off the splines. Quote
FUDNUF Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 The specified lubricant works best Pull the clutch every 100 hrs PTO seals, well if they leak you got a wet spline now. 500's love hate relationship Love them Hate working on them Quote
PerfectTrack Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 wow, hope nobody ever has a problem arise and they need to go to court. Lawyer; "please sir explain to this court where you got authourization to use the lubricant you mentioned" The 206 seal on a 500 would surely get them cranked too. Quote
PerfectTrack Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 Maybe Kyle can unsure that posts cannot be edited or deleted completely without a permanant stamp on the post. In the future I will quote the post so that there is nowhere to retract and/or hide the statement. It'll be there for all to see. The ball is in your court Kyle to keep these threads cohesive. Quote
Kyle Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 There is a limit time on the editing of posts, this always worked well, but since we are busier now, I will see if the tag can be permanent on editing. Quote
