downwash Posted June 16, 2005 Report Posted June 16, 2005 Four I'm aware of: 225-325/day + 80/hr. 250/day (100 days guaranteed) + 75-100/hr, depending on type of work 200/hr., 200 hrs. guaranteed 275/day + 80/hour Quote
jfk Posted June 17, 2005 Report Posted June 17, 2005 Stated Light pay seems pretty low. Last winter 125 hr w/ 2.5 hr gaurentee, in the 500. Quote

ECU Manual Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 By my definition of Contract Pilot, it is the contractor who sets the rate. In Australia for example, one would go to the prospective employer and state that he is available to work at a rate of, say $400.00 per day and flight pay of $100 per hour on a medium. Then the employer would either accept the offer and use him or not. In Canada it seems more like the employer sets the contract rate. Can someone clarify/elaborate please? Thanks in advance Ecu Quote
helidude Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 That's because in Canada, the customer tells the operator "I'm gonna give you this much per hour for your helicopter" therefore the operator doesn't necessarily have the luxury of splurging on a lot of things including wages! Quote
