Some operators will look at this as an opportunity to get people who are desperate for work to move to the sticks, so they don't have to shell out for flights etc

There's something to be said about not having all your eggs in the "fire season" basket. It might actually as a wake up call for some operators that they need to diversify their work a bit. Reminds me of when oil and gas prices plummeted.

Dunno who you're working for but the guys I'm with have never even hinted at something like that. Schedule has been pretty solid and pay is always on time.

I'm treated fine just pointing out past experiences before getting to this point.
