Hoping someone could shed some light on this for me I know there is a differences maintenance training course for a 212 to 412 endorsement, however is one needed from 412 to 212 I have been told that it is not needed by some and others say you do need it. I know on my 412 course the instructor covered the differences and there is some information in the training manual. Any info would be good info.

Technically, since the 212 and 412 share the same type certificate number, a certified training course on either would meet the legal requirements for signing either out.

In this case, experience should dictate whether your company will give an ACA for the specific aircraft type.  Most company manuals have a 6 month experience requirement for an ACA on type.

I got lots of hands on with the 204/205....we had 2 almost new 212's which I was not aloud to touch...they had come from Era...beautiful ships...90 hrs on them both. They were full ifr with sperry auto pilot...would have loved to have flown them! We operated them for 3 years before Era took them back.

and also if your looking at courses and want to work international, Make sure the course has an Faa credentials.  Northern Lights etc courses are Canada only.

^easa certification is better as they have more stringent policies on training.  Talk to your course provider about which ones they have as it varies and many of them have multiple certifications nowadays.
