Click4u Posted January 5, 2018 Report Posted January 5, 2018 Hello Folks, I am going to write down my FAA (Helicopter) conversion exam very soon. I am using a Dauntless software for study. Can you guys advise me for any further study material which i should use ? and how was the exam ? Your reply would be highly appreciated. Quote
HillerWhat Posted January 5, 2018 Report Posted January 5, 2018 As far as the commercial exam, it was easy. Just remember the answers to all the questions in your prep. The questions and answers are the exact same in the exam. Quote
Click4u Posted January 15, 2018 Author Report Posted January 15, 2018 Thanks Hillerwhat. I appreciate your advise. I cleared it and got 82 %. It wasn't tough at all. But 3 or 5 questions were very tricky. I used the Duantless app. It was very help full. Quote
Norm Posted January 16, 2018 Report Posted January 16, 2018 What is the entire process or completing the conversion if you don't mind me asking? I'm not familiar with the dauntless software. Thanks Quote

You need: Unrestricted Canadian CPL (night rating) FAA Class 2 Medical, Class 1 if you're an ATPL (your TC and FAA medical can be done at the same time at an approved TC/FAA medical doc) File your paperwork via: https://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/foreign_license_verification/ Write the FAA Exam (and pass). Lots of study material out there . The ASA and Dauntless seem to be the most common. Sheppard Air is a good one too. Make an appointment at an FSDO, in which you'll have to bring your logbook, medical, authenticity letter, etc.) http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/field_offices/fsdo/ Pending all that is in order, the guy at the FSDO should be able to issue you your FAA CPL right away and then they'll mail you the actual card. It should be noted, however, you'll still need a work visa to work in the USA or valid citizenship, but the CPL does give you non-revenue capability to fly N-registered ships. Good luck! Quote
Norm Posted January 18, 2018 Report Posted January 18, 2018 Excellent thank you, the company I work for has a global presence. Just thinking it might be nice to do some flying outside of Canada. Great information. Quote
