Rotorhead Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Year of Manufacture 1973 Country of Manufacture U.S.A. Ya...picky, picky, picky. Those hours divided by the years = 750 hrs / year. Do you think OK, CHC/CHW/CHL ever paid that 206 off ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would hope so, but remnants of the "mortgage" sticker was still there. No one knows why they sent it off our base. Guess the morale was too high on that orange coloured base and the Associated boys wanted that to change. Here is a rare shot of Newman and HTP on HIGH gear just before she went to the flatlands... Rotorhead Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Has HTP gone missing now as well? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uhhh, no... Quote
twinstar_ca Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 nice pic, RH!!! but do my eyes deceive me?? is that not an orange circle with a blue hummingbird between the 206 and the 350??? Quote
407 Driver Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 The CHC morailty police should have caught that decal and squashed it way back in '89, I can't believe that Zoom'in Newman got away with having a (gasp  ) OKie hummingbird in public view all these years. Shame Dave, Shame RH, both sleds on HIGH gear?  well done ! Quote

May be the only one with the old Okie logo in the ramp. RH Quote

From what I heard, he didn't share the wealth in his early years, but always gave me tonnes of flying while I was there. Averaged a hundred hours per month when I was on the base. As for "...I can't believe that Zoom'in Newman got away with... ", he retired many years before he stopped collecting a paycheque and Edmonton knew it, they just couldn't afford to tick him off. Rotorboy2 Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 OK, perhaps I read all the posts to this thread a little quickly, but... Is FHTR missing or what? I don't recall seeing an answer there. (Oh man, all these threads turn into massive nostalgia trips for so many ppl) Quote

treetopflyer Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 Hey twinstar_ca, Was that inside or outside? I was there in 2003 and my memory is shot but I have this pic and I can't see one on the ramp. later, ttf Quote
twinstar_ca Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 ttf, i lived there in '77... at that time, there was a basically a fabric hangar and a wooden pad that had the blue hummingbird painted on there... it seems to have changed a bit there!!! was room for HTX inside and that was about it!!!
