Does anyone working in cymm have any details of which buildings at the airport have burned? Tonight I read the Nova hotel was burning and the old terminal was also burning? It would be good to hear from someone who has seen it first hand. Have any of the helicopter hangars burned?

I was wondering the same thing. There are a number of operators who are literally across the street from the Nova. Not to mention that the Nova is where most of the Air Crews from out of town stay.

 

Sad state of affairs for all involved.

CYMM WX cam was working last time I looked. Can't see much further than McMurray Aviation.

I just found out the Phoenix hangar survived the night. I do not know about any other hangars.

Global news just said 145 helicopters and 22 airtankers on the fire... and Notley was trying to say how limited the number of aviation assets had to be because of overcrowding the airspace... listen to your birddogs, fly safe, and ignore the politicos... your brothers and sisters in aviation are behind you....

They got the numbers mixed up with all of Alberta. Ciffc list 135 machines hired in AB. But apparently ft Mac is the only fire in Alberta

The SRD rep Chad Morrison clearly stated yesterday in the press conference that 10 helicopters were on the fire.
