blindpilot Posted October 21, 2015 Report Posted October 21, 2015 Has anyone used Pilottraining.ca for their helicopter commercial or private groundschool? If so would it be recommended to take this course, or spend the money on different books? thanks! Quote
Phil Croucher Posted October 22, 2015 Report Posted October 22, 2015 if it's anything to do with Harv's Air it's going to be good. Certainly superior to Culhane. Phil 1 Quote
mcguire Posted October 23, 2015 Report Posted October 23, 2015 I recently took a type conversion ground school from them from CHL to PPL. That particular course isn't too substantial but it did show me of the high quality of their training. Prepared me well for the exam, was very user friendly and their support regarding technical and course questions is above and beyond. If the PPL course is any indication of their CHL course then I highly recommend. Quote

206_Fan Posted March 30, 2023 Report Posted March 30, 2023 I also recently used Pilottraining.ca to complete my Helicopter CPL Ground as I've been training part-time. Passed my written a few weeks ago. Definitely recommended! Quote
BKN Posted March 17, 2024 Report Posted March 17, 2024 Has anyone used pilottraning.ca to complete the ground training for their instrument rating and would they recommend it? Any other instrument training programs or recommendations would be appreciated. Quote
Tundra Posted March 17, 2024 Report Posted March 17, 2024 For instrument stuff I'd recommend the Dauntless App. It has a ton of fixed wing stuff mind you. The ProIFR seminar is great too. 1 Quote
Island Pilot Posted March 17, 2024 Report Posted March 17, 2024 I used pilottraining.ca for my IFR and I thought it was great. Also used it for CPL and ATPL and found all of them to be good, No issues passing exams after doing their courses Quote
Winnie Posted March 21, 2024 Report Posted March 21, 2024 Aerocourse for the IFR is also very good, and practically guarantees a pass. Worth the cost for sure. They also do a "cram course" at several locations, that you do just prior to the written. Also, get yourself an AIM and a CAP Gen book, and if you have a tablet, but haven't bought Foreflight because of cost, get FltPlan go app and use that. very handy app. Cheers! Quote
