Mac1 Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 Hi guys. First post here. Does anyone have any info on converting my British PPL (H) to a U.S. equivalent please? May be moving to the States in a couple of years and am obviously still looking to fly when I do! Any insight would be much appreciated. Thank you. Quote
350B3 Posted September 15, 2015 Report Posted September 15, 2015 Three hours of training with a U.S, instructor, you must do the written exam and a PPH flight test. This will give you a full US license. Quote
76 Driver Posted September 15, 2015 Report Posted September 15, 2015 I would contact an fsdo. When I converted my Canadian license it was just some paperwork. Not exams. Quote
Mac1 Posted September 15, 2015 Author Report Posted September 15, 2015 Thanks for the replies. Sounds fairly straightforward. Quote
Phil Croucher Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 If I'm not mistaken, you can use your British PPL anyway, but long term it would be better to convert it. As nathang says, paperwork exercise. Don't forget your logbnook, and I would suggest getting it notarised before you come over - TC would want that as well. Phil Quote
Mac1 Posted September 16, 2015 Author Report Posted September 16, 2015 Thanks. Paperwork exercise would definitely be preferable to having to retake exams again! Quote
