Mounts For Ipad To Use Foreflight

Recommended Posts

I recently made a cross country trek and finally got to use ForeFlight extensively, and I plan on using it as much as possible now. I searched the forums and didn't really come across best mounts people are using. I'm using full size iPad Air (because my eyes are starting to betray me) and I like the the bigger screen. Need it to be mobile as I regularly swap back and forth between Bell and Airbus Intermediates. Any thoughts? Pictures also appreciated (of the mounts this time).

I use an iPad mini with the Lifeproof Fre case and the Lifeproof cradle. Looking at their website, they have similar setups for the full size iPad air.

Case: http://www.lifeproof.com/shop/us_en/ipad-air/ipad-air-fre-case/?color=Black+%2F+Black

Cradle: http://www.lifeproof.com/shop/us_en/ipad-air/ipad-air-case-cradle/

The cradle supports a RAM ball mount on the rear for universal mounting.

Here is a post with my setup specifics that I posted a while ago (including picture)

I too use the Lifeproof case and cradle for my Ipad mini with Foreflight. From my research, I couldn't find another company that made a comparable quality product in regards to protecting the ipad and mounting it for flight. The cradle fits the Nuud (or Fre) case like a glove. You can purchase a mount from RAM that attaches to the back of the Lifeproof cradle so that it can be used with any Ram mount system. Bomber! I highly reccomend Lifeproof and Ram!

Cheers,

Ben

For iPad mini: http://www.rammount.com/products/apple/ipadmini

For iPad Air: http://www.rammount.com/products/apple/ipadair

For iPad: http://www.rammount.com/products/apple/ipad

I suggest the X-Grip style. Lightest, most versatile (can handle all cases types) and smallest footprint of the ones they have available.

All of them available at http://www.gpscity.ca/
