500driver
Not sure, but I suspect it may have something to do with the swing hook. I'd have to look at the supplement for the sling hook to see if the restriction applies across the board.

Lakelseair
I'm curious as to how AS350/355 can pull sockline if this is a restriction?
hired-gun12
Can't man, not by strict definition as you cannot get around the Class C designation. "I've heard" it has be done safely with the headache ball, but that doesn't alleviate anything. We went around this when dealing with heavy pulls putting in OPG fiber. It would be much more comfortable with a 350 and a heavy ball (vs. 500/Colorado sidepull) but we stayed away.

Hazy
Is there a side pull STC for an Astar?
Lakelseair
Would threading the needle also be considered class C ? I watched 2 - AS355's pull over 400km of sock and thread the center phase with a needle on the Northern Transmission Line. All class C. There is a side pull for the AS350 that is working it's way through the Transport approval process at this time. It has been in use in New Zealand for awhile.
