STICKJIGGLER Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Can anyone shed any light on the rumours of a 212 incident near Blue River in the last couple of days. Have some friends working over there. Good Company, Good machines and some of the best Pilots I know flying in pretty rugged terrain. Hope all are OK. Jiggler Quote
Skidz Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 A friend of mine's a guide at Wieglele's. I'll ask... Quote
Nomex Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Everyone OK, 212 lost power heading to the bottom, after dropping off skiers at the top - only the pilot on board, one of the most experienced 212 driver at Wiegele's - did a great job putting it down and walked away - it's a bit twisted and was slung out. twinstar_ca Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 ditto on the congrats to the driver!!  Quote
treetopflyer Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Excellent job! Hey Nomex, Curious what you meant by, "lost power." Single engine failure, dual engine failure etc... I don't have any steam chicken time but would hope that even in the valleys with no one onboard that you could keep it flogging around single engine if you have some airspeed and or altitude. How does it perform single engine? Later, ttf Quote
Nomex Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 can't add much else other than the power loss affected both engines - engineer said they were still running, but at ground idle. Quote
407 Driver Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Gawd, I hate it when that happens. You just can't get many hours out of those Warp-drive-sensors anymore, must be a manufacturing defect or bad batch or something. Good news about the pilot (GC?) being OK, that's all that matters. Be safe out there...fly low and slow, and throttle back in the turns ! Quote
Nomex Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Yes it was - lots of experience. Quote
RDM Posted February 28, 2005 Report Posted February 28, 2005 Mags....as always your right up to date on Bell technolgy...tecghnol....tectnogoll....teck no stuff Hey 407, what is with this "slow in the turns" crap, remember dude, if ya don't own the company treat it like a rental.  (just kiddin obviously) Quote
