Don't see a belly band, dual hook, second engine and probably no training. Hope he pulled the breaker at least. Can that thing even lift 100 feet of line and two people at altitude? :) that uphill snowboard run must have been a life/death situation

Questions.....

If the snowboarder never leaves the ground, is it actually a Class C load?

If so, does it still look like reckless use of an aircraft, endangering people on the ground and in the aircraft?

No class c is load connected to the earth such as pulling a truck out of the ditch or sockline. It is class D human external cargo below the skids, pretty hard to prove the skier could go up the hill without the use of the helicopter eh. Just plain dumbass.

Unfortunately BCH seems to be trying to garner attention to it's school by filming all kinds of borderline risky stunts lately.....I guess they feel is is one way of attracting students...???!?!

I have a question that perhaps is just semantics.

CARs states:
"702.21 (1) Subject to subsection (2), no air operator shall operate a helicopter to carry a helicopter Class D external load unless..."

How do the regs apply to someone who is not an air operator? If someone doing something similar was not operating a commercial air service (ie privately owned helicopter), are there regulations that define how they are allowed to conduct external load operations (if at all)?
