everlast Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 I don't have a press release to paste, or proof, however, from a good source, vih did not get bought, but Mustang bought 12 aircraft and one of there north coast bases. 1 Quote
point of vu Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 I have been told first hand that Mustang has purchased 12 of their aircraft and they will be delivered mid may. There is an offer on the table from another interested party to purchase the remaining aircraft (from what I can tell thats the remaining 8 Astars and possibly Kamovs) and run it under the VIH logo, but not under the Norie empire. However, so far , the company.........VIH...........HAS NOT BEEN SOLD. Sorry guys, I don't have the prss release to paste as "proof", but when it gets spilled from management to the guys on the hangar floor, I believe thats good enough for me!!! 3 Quote

I heard it from one of the crew yesterday..... Not sure on all the details, but as stated above, it came from management. Lets hope nobody gets laid off or loses their jobs. It's all just iron and a change in paint colour. Plenty of work out there to keep them all busy and fires haven't started yet either. Carry on Quote
the pup Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 It's no rumor. I'm just curious, how many people will go to mustang from vih. What's got me worried is mustang giving away a B2 for 900 something a hour. I don't imagine the pilots are getting top dollar, if the machines are generating that little revenue. Myself, I'm worried that mustang will come in with those low rates, wipe out the local operators that pay their employees well. Cause they are giving away machine's at half the rate they should be at, and then we all end up working at the walmart of helicopters, for minimum wage. 6 Quote

Their wages are not top dollar, but they are not the bottom of the barrel. Where did you see them giving away a B2 for $900~/hr? As to of where the VIH employees go... Time will tell. Quote

As to of where the VIH employees go... Time will tell. Last season here in Stewart. It wasn't 900. It was something between 900-1000 I can't Remember the exact amount. I would think that seems bad for everyone. But maybe that's the point. From what I understand mustang has made a large presence on eastern canada and done the same thing as well. Quote

I do remember that now. They have been, and still are, very hot and horny to go and fly around in the fog while pulling the guts out of their machines. They would not be the first operator to run their machines at a loss in the hopes of establishing a presence in an area. From what I've seen, Stewart is rather cliquey, it's hard to just show up and go to work. Their eastern presence is not Mustang, but the other 'Coast to Coast' companies. Quote
CJM91 Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 So if VIH has just sold 12 with maybe more to follow, what will be left? Just the heavies? Or just the OC? This is reminiscent of the last days of NMH, seems ironic. Quote
