Freewheel - may I suggest you drop this and get a life.

Why should he drop it? Do you prefer solid well thought out and simply worded regulations that are applied equally, or poorly worded regs, poorly written, and unequally applied by the regulator?

Says the retired pilot who spends his days surfing pilot forums trying to convince them to form or join a union.

Maybe if our predecessors had expected accountability from their public servants, we wouldn't need a union.

I'll also politely suggest that many other issues in the news stem from this very same attitude. Maybe if operators held the regulator accountable with regards to interpretation of H1 pads they would not have found themselves getting the rug pulled out from underneath them 9 yrs later (and provincial Medi-vac would not have been interrupted). Similar issues with regards to TC SURVEILLANCE were also identified by TSB in the ORNGE accident (which killed 4 heros).

This isn't about one interpretation; it's about how TC does business.

Actually, I am not retired - I wish. And as you have made 500+ comments on these forums and I have made 60, I believe we have a serious case of the "pot calling the kettle black!"

Believe me, I don't read your posts......I see the title and who wrote it, and move on.

woops...sorry about that; I must have misread. I thought for sure you said you were retired in a previous post.

Maybe I was mistaking it for the time you signed off of Vertical Forums: "And on that note, with regards to Vertical Forums, I will say "Over and Out". Say whatever you want about whatever I wrote, there will be no response from me here."

Under your current username, you've been a member since 2014, while mine has been registered since 2006., so I'd say we've both been active posters on this forum

The whole point of these forums is to have constructive, open discussions about issues affecting the helicopter industry. I don't see how your comments were in any way adding constructively to this discussion, but by all means carry on.

Who knows, maybe one day I'll see you discussing an association , with effective leadership, that I think could help this industry (and I'll join). So far that's not the case...but I'll refrain from telling you to get a life.

Is the industry crooked, or the regulator? Classic Egg/chicken conundrum.

Email response sent to Minister Garneau & Director General McCrorie Oct. 13/16.

"Mr, McCrorie,

Your latest correspondence states "Transport Canada is aware of your position". To be clear: I don't have a "position", I only have the CARs as written, and a requirement to operate within those regulations.

The only "position" I have ever taken, is that an entire industry is unaware of Transport Canada's "position" on how they enforce these regulations (which is Transport Canada's requirement under the same regulations).

Answering the 7 basic questions would clarify Transport Canada's "position" immensely and correct this confusion. The fact you refuse to clarify your position is disturbing to many.

FYI I will gladly make changes to our operational practices if Transport Canada clarifies their position to industry (and enforces it equally). That is the only "position" I have ever taken throughout this discussion.

Have a nice day."

Speaking of associations and "Positions", did anyone catch the President's Message in the latest HAC communique distributed October 14. It's called "There is no handicapped parking in the jungle" and discusses how the HAC arrives at an "Industry Position".

I distributed the same survey and questions to Fred Jones. While he has contacted me to discuss on numerous occasions, he didn't offer answers to the basic questions either....I guess they haven't come up with a "position" yet either. Until we get answers I guess we can continue to "assume the position". Pardon the pun... I couldn't resist.

Oh no. Not another discussion about an association/union. I love the part about "and I'll join". To many followers and not enough doers. This line of discussion just keeps going around and around. You and Coastal should get together and form an I am so hard done by group. Comments?
