rumrunner Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Slow spring/summer in most places. Anyone seeing any fire action yet? Usually Alberta has a few starts prior to green up. Quote
18speed Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 No action yet, it's a late start, we have been on in Ont many times in April but not this year. Quote
Heliman2 Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Better chance this Spring of getting some flood action in... Quote
Daz Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Better chance this Spring of getting some flood action in... No kidding, eh? It's still very much winter here in southeastern BC. The snowpack is still going UP some places... That said, last week I started my lawn on fire with an errant coal from my BBQ. Environment Canada predicts a hot summer for most of BC... http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/story/2011/05/04/bc-summer-forecast.html - Darren Quote
Bif Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Had some lightning and thunder in the Red Earth Creek area today... sounded like $$ Of course, nothing materialized! Quote
Max Continuous Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Better make sure your A/C is registered on Web Air and that your "length of availability time stamp" is longer than the spec machine from B.C. Max 1 Quote
Brock_Landers Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 ASRD is starting a prescribed burn here in Rainbow Lake today and its pretty windy so things might pick up here. Quote
Brock_Landers Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 Alberta seems to be lighting up quite nicely with this warm weather and 20kt winds. I heard bombers on the radio all day today. Looks like the fire season has arrived. Quote
Jamhands Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 Two fires within 10 Miles of town of Slave Lake. Communities to the East of the town are being evacuated and watching quite an airshow from the deck of the crew house here. Quote
Iceman Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 According to CIFFC there are 47 machines on casual hire in Alberta today. Quote
