widgeon Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 The mention of Magnum on another thread reminded me of one episode where they had to land cos of a broken pitch rod . they made a replacement one using a 7 iron as I recall . Anyone else got any other good examples?. Quote
Rotorhead Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 I saw the exact same thing on an episode of "Benson", but on a JetRanger. Seven iron would make a pretty interesting pitch link on a 500. RH Quote
cyclic monkey Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 You guys should cut Magnum some slack...... Quote
widgeon Posted November 11, 2004 Author Report Posted November 11, 2004 Right it was Benson , my memory is getting blurry ..... did I mention my memory is getting blurry .. Quote
twinstar_ca Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 kind of makes you wonder what maguyver would have used... Quote
sharkbait Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Magnum was great for strange Heli probems but I think that they at least got some input from the heli crew. Met Tom S. once - very nice guy. Remember a show called 240 Robert - the things that went wrong with that poor 500!!!! Everythinhg led to smoke and a high speed hover turn- especially the hydraulic failures- LOL Quote
twinstar_ca Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 lol!! 240 robert was a hoot to watch both from the flying standpoint and the EMS standpoint!! i don't think gage and desoto lost any sleep that the sheriff's boys would edge out squad 51!!! there were a few shows before that... i think one was called chopper 1 with some police guys in a 206... never hear much about that one... and who could forget the screaming mimi!!! nothing to do with drew carey but a couple of private eye brothers, one who flew a rusted out 58 all over the place.. Rotorhead Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Tom Selleck is in Halifax this month shooting a movie. My neighbour is a waitress at a restaurant and has served him three times this week. He asks for her each time, no doubt why as she is quite a nice lady (not hard to look at either). $150 tip each time. Shearwater is again hosting the V-22 Opsrey as well as a British Merlin EH-101 this winter doing operational icing testing. Lots of action in this area. RH Quote
