Hazy Posted February 2, 2011 Report Share Posted February 2, 2011 I agree with Three_Per. Improper camlocks or hardware will enlarge the holes in the cowls. Not enough clamp up will allow the cowl to fret. If your cowls cause a tailboom to scrap, there was a failure in the "system". Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Heliian Posted February 3, 2011 Report Share Posted February 3, 2011 Those rubber washers that are supposed to be under the cowl work great but have a tendancy of falling off, make sure the rubbers are there and maybe "locally manufacture" some new ones. deltap Posted February 4, 2011 Report Share Posted February 4, 2011 PRC work's very fine if you use a acid brush to give it a non-slick surface, like a stuko wall, I was working for a while with Teflon anti-shaffe tape, the brown one, and they don't last long, especially after being in contact with oil, grease, soap.
