Winnie Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Have a guy that says the PSTAR is open book, now I think that is BS, but what do you guys think? Have never heard of an open book transport test before... Quote
hb96tuner Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Wasn't open book when I wrote it last year. The only thing I have ever heard that is open book, is being able to use an A.I.P. and POH during the ground portion of a privot and commercial flight exam Quote
412driver Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 no, not open book! you see the 200 questions of which 50 will comprise the test so that you start studying through the AIP ect...... when your student gets his 50 questions he writes those closed book! cheers Quote
Winnie Posted October 21, 2004 Author Report Posted October 21, 2004 Yep, that was my view too, but have a guy that's adamant it is open book! Can't persuade him otherwise either, and Transport even backs me but to no avail... Do we have any references? I think the first dead giveaway is that multiple choice thing... Quote
jetbox Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 If he doesn't want to listen to reason, let him find out the hard way!! Quote

412driver Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 send him to transport and let him find out for himself.......... jeepers, one of THOSE students eh? Quote
3Lions Posted October 30, 2004 Report Posted October 30, 2004 I took the PSTAR exam about 6 weeks ago. I was given the 200 questions beforehand, for the purpose of getting me into the CARs and AIP, and the actual exam consisted of 50 of the these 200 questions. The exam was conducted under 'exam conditions,' closed book, and requiring a mark of 90% or more to pass. Quote
