This year was pretty crappy for most operators - so no I'd say recovery is still very much a work in progress.

We repair parts as they time expire. We see the light aircraft sector has been farly stagnent with a small boost this summer. The medium & heavy market has performed more consistently due to NGO and Security hours flown around the world.

I don't believe the Canadian industry is even close to being on the upswing yet more trouble to come.

More operators selling iron more operators closing their doors, there may be the odd exception to this but they are rare Kinda like seeing bigfoot ;) DSL

Agree totally flat as a pancake expecting recovery by 2014. Big problems still for small to med size companies securing credit. Economic problems persist.

I see thins are bad and will stay for a while but 4 years seems a long time, lets hope everything can come to "normal" or close to it sooner !

The bottom line is that there are too many helicopters in Canada...Period. Most operators continue to find deals on helicopters outside of Canada and keep on importing new aircraft. Some operators do go under from time to time but those aircraft they import stay in Canada and are bought or leased to other Canadian operators. For the industry to recover there has to be less helicopters in the Canadian market or the demand for hired aircraft has to increase in Canada. I do not see this happening at the present moment or the near future. Just my opinion

A sign that it is Bad

this summer the BC forest service had more machines sitting on Spec at the fire centers than they had working. the estimate at williams lake alone was over 50 A/C :o

not a good sign having that many A/C "available" -DSL
