shred Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 Is the R66 going to push the 206 aside or is it just a turned up R44? Will the Forest service hire it for fires? Or is the 206 on its way out anyway? Will the 66 stand up in the bush? I'm interested to hear any thoughts. Shred Quote

WTF_was_that Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 the r66 will put the final nail in the jetbuggy coffin....... Quote
deltacharlie Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 If the price is right and the AC works, it'll get hired. Don't worry, somebody will give start giving them away at rock bottom prices just like everything else. Quote
KnuckleDragger Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 One of the problems with the 44's is the flimsiness. Not a bush or oilfield vehicle and they get the crap beat out of them when used for those purposes. Blade material is retarded thin and I would rather change tt straps then paint a set of robbie blades for the AD. 2 week sling job and the head needs track and balance again. Not to mention using their ridiculous dial indicator method for measuring trim tabs. Don't know if the 66 addresses these issues. Quote
shred Posted September 6, 2010 Author Report Posted September 6, 2010 Everyone said the Jetranger was too pretty and not tough enough for the bush when it came out. Quote
KnuckleDragger Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 When it comes to the plastic interiors they were right. I didn't know that was said considering it was designed for the military originally. I am interested in the 66 though and how it holds up, wouldn't mind tinkering with it. Quote
