When the MTOW of a helicopter is higher for external load operations, does it apply only to jettisonable loads, or is it OK also for cargo pods or spraying equipment?

A higher MTOW for external loads only apply to that which is attached to the cargo hook and can be jettisoned. The landing gear can not be subjected to the increased load.
