407 too Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 Looking for info on the 407 interior heating systems for winter operations. Any and all advice will be appreciated! Thanks Unless you can find some jet B you won't be flying at -40c so it may be a mute point. -32c for jet A, the arctic heater (don't know if it is the stock one) worked good at -25c Quote
Helilog56 Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 Is a "mute point" another way of saying....."shaddup"?????? Quote
epicyclic Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 haha whats jet A??? lol all I burn is jet B...this is Canada you know. Quote
Bugman Posted November 12, 2009 Author Report Posted November 12, 2009 While I appreciate the information on Jet A versus B, where I can get it and when I can use it, and also the spelling lesson on moot versus mute, all I really wanted to know was how well the 407 heater worked. To those that stayed on topic and PM'd me the info - Thanks! B Quote

Amphibious Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 unsure about flight limitations on 407, but can it even fly at -40? no TR GB temp limits like on other aircraft? sorry, no help to your original question, just currious Quote
rainman Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 I heliskiied with the 407 for 3 winters and found that below -25 the heater was not bad above the waist but my feet froze in the drivers seat. Not sure what to suggest, Being in the sun helped! However...it was heliskiing. Quote
