old dog Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 Yesterday I lost my brother Bob to cancer after a long battle with it. I have so many fond memories of him when we were growing up back in Kenora. He will be missed by so many. Rick C. Our deepest condolences to you and your family, Rick. Bob was a great guy and a true leader in our industry. Quote
Black Mike Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 I took the 250 course from Jerome Gau, Standard Aero, in 1981 and my son took the same course from Bob 2 years ago- I never met him but have spoke to him on the phone from time to time over the last 30 years. This is quite a loss to the aviation community as well as family members. He will be missed. Mike Quote
otooley Posted November 12, 2009 Author Report Posted November 12, 2009 A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday,November 14,2009 at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Bob would have probably have given me a boot in my rear end if he knew I had put this on here. Many thanks folks for the kind words and thoughts. Rick C. Quote

Cambox Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 The industry has lost a wealth of knowledge with Bob's passing. Like many others, my first 250 course was with Bob way back in the 70s and numeros courses with him since then, the latest was the -47 course just over a year ago. Always enjoyed his classes and his humour. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Thank for letting us know, Rick Rick T. Quote
LATCHNUT Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 Rick, I'm really sorry about your lose. I still remember Bob teaching me the T53 course back in 90'. He was a wealth of information and a great promoter of the industry. He will surely be missed. Dan Lemay Quote
