sharkbait Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 Don May, former Chief Engineer for Heli Voyageur, passed away in North Bay, Ontario a couple of days ago. A good man - probably having a cold one with Jim Masse in the big hangar in the sky. Goodbye Don - it was great knowing you. Quote
Dewey Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 One of my first mentors during my early days in the helicopter industry. A great man and a solid contributor to the cause. Good bye, Don. Condolences to his family and friends. Quote
carholme Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 Don; I am sure Jim will be waiting with a full glass. Losing too many lately and it probably reflects our age. But what a time we have had! All the best, Gerry Quote

Nacreous Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Sorry to hear that news. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who got their first turbine job with Heli-Voyageur... Sincere condolences to friends and family. Quote
47G Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Rest in peace Don. http://yourlifemoments.ca/sitepages/obitua...mp;source=North Bay Nugget Quote
Grasshopper Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 One of the best of the 'old school' of AMEs, Don was irascible a good deal of the time, hiding a heart of gold behind it. Never hesitated to help a pilot understand how wrong he was in his understanding of something, and send him away with 'the gen.' Yeah, he's looking down chuckling with JM. Cheers to them both. Quote
