Elan Head
We're running Guy Maher's story on CAMTS, from the AMTC issue of Vertical 911, online in two installments. You can read the first part here: http://www.verticalmag.com/control/news/te...=12118&z=

ValKiran.mtc
Part 2 is now also available online: http://www.verticalmag.com/control/news/te...=12153&z=11 I didn't realize the 'flipside' to seeking CAMTS accreditations. If CAMTS is not the route chosen for accreditation / third party consideration of practices - what are some of the other routes company's can take / have taken to instill the same kind of checks and balances? Elan Head
Hi ValKiran, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I discussed this briefly with the author of the story, Guy. First, note that we can only speak to the aviation side of the house — the medical side of the equation is beyond Vertical's scope. As Guy noted in the article, Helicopter Association International is currently exploring an industry-wide accreditation program that would go beyond its current "Platinum" program. Whether other accreditation programs come into existence remains to be seen. That said, HAI already has some great safety-related resources on its (recently redesigned) website, rotor.com. Note especially the page of Safety Links, which includes a link to the International Helicopter Safety Team's SMS Toolkit, plus other terrific resources. It's a good starting point for investigating how other companies have implemented safety checks and balances, whether in conjunction with or independently of accreditation. Cheers! Elan As quoted from Short Circuit...."NEED INPUT"...only less NEED and more "looking for" Thank you for looking in to the question and taking the time to answer. Off on the info-hunt!
