M&M Posted July 19, 2009 Report Posted July 19, 2009 Hi - Just wondering if anybody knows ( from experience) how much a MD 530 F is able to lift external. We are looking to purchase one but we need to run some numbers. 1600lbs. with 1 hour fuel and a 220lbs pilot in the winter below 4000` - possible? Quote

I remember 3 barrells jet fuel, 200 lb pilot and 1 hour fuel at 5000 DA on a regular basis. Not sure if the charts say that. Quote
T-rex Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Try giving Paul G a shout at Guardian, I belive they operate one... Quote
Helilog56 Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Just think about this.......a "lift", may entail hovering "OGE", for an "extended period of time!!??? Quote
M&M Posted July 20, 2009 Author Report Posted July 20, 2009 Just think about this.......a "lift", may entail hovering "OGE", for an "extended period of time!!??? Thanks - I was considering using it on seismic - 6 3D bags plus 150` line and carousel approx. 1600lbs. Quote
Mike Reyno Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Check the latest issue of Vertical, which contains a story on HeliCropper's brand-new 530FF that Graham Lavery test flew... Quote

Over-Talk Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 The advantage of a 530F is better hot-and-high performance than a 500D. Your job doesn't sound like the time of year or altitude for this ship's benefits. I think I hear an A-star coming.......... Quote
Black Mike Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 Sounds like a perfect L-4 job and save a few $100 per hour operating cost over those fancy machines. We do that type of load all the time. B.M. Quote
