I know we are barely into summer but I was looking for information on the Calberta Arctic parka and it seems they have vanished.

The Calberta, as far as I am concerned is the best cold weather parka made. If its gone, what manufacturer is everyone using - not just pilots but engineers who need ones that keep you warm and are good at soaking up fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, greases etc

Yeah I know the Canada Goose line. The Calberta was around $175.00 20 years ago so would relate to the same thing today counting inflation. One other thing about the Calberta Aviation model was that it was anti-static and rated to -70. Don't know if the Canada Goose meets that.

I've got a nomex parka and bib overalls from Mark's. Flame retardant is always in important consideration for me.

You don't say, Dick! :(

I have a -60 rated work jacket from Mark's... it worked well this winter down to -40.

I remember seeing a great thread on winter gear not long ago as well but I can't seem to find it.

Cheers.

I came across a truckload of army surplus from Germany a few years ago. There were dozens of German parkas for the Berlin wall guards during that 'episode'. They were long enough to touch your knees, weighed a ton, and guaranteed comfort, even standing for 12 hours on a bloody concrete wall.

hindsight is 20/20. I wish I bought them, and sold them to other poor souls much like myself.

BTW: my goose is all I need.
