bkstabr Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 I thought flight time was when aircraft moves under its own power. And air time is when it actually leaves the ground?? If you don't have wheels how are you getting all this flight time accumulated??? Its kinda like when people do this on fires and wonder why they are the first clowns sent home. I love it. keep it up please. I need the work. Do you think customers don't see this going on?? Quote
Banoy Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Woo hoo! I was planning on calling it quits at 10 000... thanks for the flight time info...I might be able to quit next week! Quote
bleed air Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Hey Banoy...I thought you were supposed to have your eyes closed when you were dreaming!!! Good luck with that plan! Quote
hoverintowind Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 just a question. other than maybe a glance at a log book by TC. How often does TC actually do a full on audit of hours logged? comparing log book to journey log book to flight tickets? Quote

I love it. keep it up please. I need the work. Do you think customers don't see this going on?? I was on a fire where the Air Boss said specifically to bill running time, without me asking. If the passenger was out talking to a cat operator, and said keep it running, it was all billed. They were good enough to keep me on after all other machines had gone, 6 weeks. Do you think the truck driver who delivers your drums, or bulk fuel, bills you only when the truck is moving? Incidently Transport does occasionally inspects flight tickets, A/C journey logs, and flight time duty day records. Quote
Skids Up Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 Incidently Transport does occasionally inspects flight tickets, A/C journey logs, and flight time duty day records. ..and personal logs books??? Didn't think so. But do something to give a lawyer a chance/reason to, and look out! So lets see. If I add up all the extra "flight time" and add it to what I have now, I'll have..., (let's see. Add 12 - 45 / 26 + 2345.56, - the number of days I actually worked + the days I didn't, and I'll have ... ???) Well, that's way to difficult. And besides, nobody has ever asked anyway. Quote
hoverintowind Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 in 30 plus years. I have been ramp checked twice. just to see if i was carrying my licence and have a valid medical, and that the journey log book was on board. They had a glance at it. I keep my personal log book at home. I look at it as a history of where i have been. I might even be short hours in it. Quote
shred Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 If anyone's looking for a good training school Coast Helicopter college only charges on flight time. So when I got my license I had a 100hrs of air time not flight time. Reimer's real good, I'd recommend him any day. Quote
