  3. Listen to this one!! After 3 years of looking for a job the call finally came in that a company was going to hire me for the upcoming season!!! I went for the recurrent training and passed my PPC ride with them, I was sent home for a week of rest before being sent up north for my very first job. About a week later I received a phone call that the helicopter I was to be flying that summer had crashed, and unfortunatley they was no longer a job for me! As you can imagine I was ready to through in the towel!! Fortunately I didn't and about a year later a got another call for a job! I havn't looked back since then! Keep your chin up man, persistance is the key!
  4. Just to clarify with everyone, First Officers with Canadian EMS go through the same training program as the Captains, as well as an IFR PPC, and endorsment on the SK76. The best sections to study are of course the Limitations, and Emergency procedures section. There are also a lot of Company SOP's that need to be memorized. Good Luck Klipper

    Camc?

Did you fry some more braincells in Mexico RTR??? Hope you had a good time. Klipper
  6. Hi, You will start somewhere around 45,000 a year. With a good benefits package and overtime is paid for any extra shifts covered. All bases are different but generally 5 days on 5 days off. Usually 3 days 2 nights then 5 off. Flying is generally around 300 to 350 hours a year. Not a lot, but you have to remember you're only working half the month. If you want to do a lot of overtime it is available. Earning potential becomes quite a bit more when getting paid time and a half. The company will fly you between bases to cover shifts as well. Night rating, IFR rating is required. Started last October, couldn't be happier. Lifestyle, lyfestyle, lyfestyle!!!
  7. Good Job! Have a good time!!
