    • That sounds like an opportunity and a great experience!
    • If your son has some knowledge of Canadian history, and can speak English and French I’d highly recommend he check out the Parks Canada website.  I was in France for the 100th of Vimmy Ridge and went to Juno beach as well.  Was with my daughter’s class.  The interpretive centre on Juno beach is all Canadian young people, between the ages of 17-25.  They are flown to France, put up in accommodation’s with other student workers and are used to visit and help tell the world what Canada did there.  It is usually university kids between semesters.  It didn’t work for either of my kids due to school obligations, but if I could go back in time I’d do it myself.  The age restriction is because it is the same age range of the soldiers that hit the beach.

    • My son is going to UBC in the Fall and looking for work for June, July and August. I'd like him to continue in the helicopter industry so he can understand our suffering and know true poverty. He has a massive brain (studying Math and Physics) is extremely fit and is a bit of a geek. He's been around aircraft consistently, has a full full drivers license and is an easy going guy. Long tours would suit him since he currently has no demands for his summer and I'm going to be working tours.  Does anyone have any ideas of work in or around the industry currently? What about any lodges that need staff? He is currently waitering and is extremely competent in the kitchen thanks to his Mothers training... (If you know me, you know her and if you have been here... you know what I mean about the cooking) I'd appreciate any help or suggestions thanks!
    • It's been 15 years. That's probably why the link doesn't work anymore.
    • In aviation, it feels especially off since both can impair your abilities, but only one gets a free pass. Personally, I made the switch to weed pens for a more controlled experience, and they’ve been great—no lingering effects like smoking, and they’re super discreet.
    • The 169 can be optioned with non retractable wheeled landing gear from Leonardo. Most chose to have the retractable as it’s difficult to get these rigs to 130kts as is. I’m guessing they are slowed down substantially or burn a lot more fuel to try and get up and moving. The ones I’m working with have at best a 2500lb payload and that’s without a HEMS interior. The retractable landing gear system is well designed but the locking actuators like to fail and I can’t see this machine landing anywhere near as many places as the skid equipped machine would in BC. Would be nice to see some of those variants mixed in with the EPP and increased max gross. At 12 million brand new and when a spare ADAHRU runs you 400k USD and last 500 hours it’ll be a pricey service for the tax payer.
